Wedding: Blakely & Daniel

Ceremony: TCU Chapel
Reception: Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
Flowers: Blooms Forever
Cake Design: Frosted Art
DJ: Justin Williams

I truly *heart* Blakely and Daniel. There is just no other way to put it. They are both fantastic people, so kind and sweet, just loved by everyone that knows them. We had been looking forward to their wedding for over a year, since we first met in November of 06! You may recognize them from my website since I have done 2 engagement and 1 bridal sessions with them. I love shooting them because they have crazy chemistry between them, plus it seems like I am just hanging with friends. Their DJ did such a great job keeping all of us dancing all night and their venue decor was beautifully done by Blooms Forever.

Here are some of my favorites!

Bridal: Leigh

This is the first session I shot at the new studio!!! Can I just say how much I love it? I love it. Shooting there was awesome. LOVE it.

I will be shooting Leigh's wedding this weekend and I can't wait! She is as beautiful as she is fun. She's always got a smile on her lips, and after meeting her future husband, Brian, I can see why. He is over the moon in love with her and I just love the way he loves on her and she on him.

Here are my favorites from her bridal session!

I'm on Facebook

I finally decided to join Facebook. So if you are on there, look me up! :)

Love Affair: In Love

I'm home from what was a life changing experience. I can not begin to describe all I have learned, but I will say that I met some pretty cool ladies that I already miss so much!

Here are some of my favorites from the model shoots we had. I actually submitted the image above for a photo critique at the workshop and won! The award was a SHOOTSAC! How cool is that?! :)

Here are some images from the workshop!

can you spot me?
Here is what we were shooting...

Love Affair: More learning and shooting

Today we had a quick class before heading out to do some more shooting. One thing I love about this workshop is that we learn something in the classroom and then turn right around and go apply what we learned by shooting. I have learned so much about my camera and technique its not even funny.

Here are three of the four AWESOME photographers that put this workshop together. This is during our morning class. They are: Lauren Clark, Millie Holloman, Kelly Moore and Davina Fear (not pictured).

I shot this today while waiting for our next class to being. It is so pretty here! We have had the best weather!

Love Affair: Blessed, Thankful & Proud

One of the most important things I learned this week was actually something I already knew but for some reason had lost focus on because I have been so busy! My family comes first. I was doing some thinking today and I realized once again how blessed, thankful, proud I am of the people in my life.

My business has grown so much in the last year. That is something I am so blessed, thankful and proud of. It is no secret that I love photography and being behind the camera is one of my favorite places to be. But my best place is in my husband's arms, or with my daughter's hand in mine. I don't want to sound sappy (too late) but I have remembered that those two are my best places in life, where I belong.

Wayne, I hope I make you feel blessed, thankful and proud.

Here is a photo my new friend Rebecca took of me today. Thank you Rebecca! I am so glad we met!!!!!

It's a Love Affair: Shooting & Learning

It has been a busy day and I am pretty tired. But it's a great sort of tired. The type of tired that you get after a very fulfilling day. Can't wait until tomorrow!

Today we have gone from class, to chatting on the porch, to shooting, and tonight a Photoshop class with Lauren Clark. I am soooo loving it here!

Here are some of my shots from today's photo session.

It's a Love Affair...

We're here! In an island, off the coast of North Carolina with about 50 other women that share a passion for photography, love and life. It has been an amazing experience thus far, words can not describe how blessed I feel to be among this talented group of women.

I will share more pics tomorrow!

Going to North Carolina for Love Affair

You would think that I travel a lot since this is the second time I travel in the same month, but I really don't! But I am pretty excited about this trip :)

I will be leaving today to attend a fabulous workshop I have been looking forward to for months. Love Affair will be led by four of my favorite women photographers and will be held on an island off the coast of North Carolina, Bald Head. I am told that we will have very limited internet and cell phone service on the island. I will be checking voice mail and email as often as I am able to. I will be back on Monday 2/25.

Have an awesome week!

Wedding: Anne & Erik

Ceremony: First United Methodist Church
Reception: Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth

Efra and I were both ecstatic to not only get to shoot at both these fabulous locations, but we were excited because we knew our photography approach and their photography vision was a great fit. Anne's dress was STUNNING. Seriously, breathtakingly gorgeous.

There were so many special elements to their wedding which made it very unique. They chose to not have a wedding party and only did a handful of formals after the ceremony because they knew they would be ready to get to their reception. The speech Anne's dad made had us all cracking up, and a speech by Erik's friend even made me tear up a little bit.

Several of my favorite photos have already debuted on the website, but here are some more!

Erik was pacing back and forth before the ceremony. It was so sweet.

Abby Grace is 3 Today

Our little girl is a whole three years old today, but if you ask her she's turning five!

She is amazing and her daddy and I are blessed to have her in our lives.

Happy Birthday my tiny cookie! Mama and Daddy love you so much!

Engaged: Jessa & Richard

I loved spending time with this couple! They are getting married Labor Day weekend but we wanted to get their engagement photos done since they will be sending out Save The Date magnets this month.

I love how Richard loves on Jessa; it's obvious he's crazy about her. And I love the way Jessa loves on him; she laughs at all his silly jokes and let's him cuddle her all he wants. It's a sweet love these two have and I feel honored to get to document their wedding day.

So many favorites! Hope you love these J & R!

Back from Jersey! (you have to imagine me saying that with a really thick Sopranos-style accent)

I had so much fun shooting with my friend Heather! But I really had the best time just hanging with her. She is a wonderful person and I am blessed to call her a friend. Here is a quick pic ofus on the Rocky steps in Philly. No, we didn't run up the steps like crazy people... ok deep down I wanted to...

I have so many images to share on here from lots of shoots!
Coming up:
Jessa & Richard's Engaged Session
Anne & Erik's Wedding
Blakely & Daniel's Wedding
Nyssa & Oscar's Wedding
Leigh's Bridal Session (shooting on 2/13)
Mel's Bridal Session (shooting on 2/14)

Going to Jersey!

My good friend Heather asked me to come shoot a wedding in New Jersey with her this weekend and I said of course!

I will have my laptop and will be checking email and voicemail in case you need to reach me. I will be back in the studio on Monday.

Have a great weekend everybody! :)

And just because, here is a shot of Abby playing with her favorite baby doll. She warms my heart. Everyday.

The New Studio - A First Look

I am so excited to share with you a little bit of our new space!

It is a very unique location that has beautiful light, huge spaces for shooting, a great history and the list just goes on.

We are still getting it all set up and hope to have it ready in the next week. Here is a sneak peek of The Sanctuary.

Love the hard wood floors! They are in beautiful condition!

I love sharing the space with a florist (among several other vendors!) - there are always fresh flowers!

Efra paints one of the many walls we painted.

As you can see, there is still lots of work to do!
